With hope, I think. How else can we go forward in this challenging time? It’s so easy to feel discouraged, or to languish, as The New York Times so aptly phrased it, as we enter yet another year of pandemic. So let’s do our best to stay hopeful, and find a way forward.

To that end, I am working on a piece about Hope, for an exhibition of the same title. I have been jotting down ideas and making small sketches as I ponder how to visualize hope. An image of hope is many things, and I have not settled yet on my particular visualization.

My question though: “What is hope to you?”

Here’s a collage from “Divisible by Tree”. A tree can be a symbol of hope.
