Medieval poets, orators, philosophers, and writers considered women to be vice-filled vessels. I combined this with the archetype of ancient “Venus” goddess images and also the Minoan snake goddess. My goddess looks at the world from one eye in the goblet cup; an embryo is in her hand; another woman looks out from the background; and a despairing face is trapped in the cathedral window between her breasts.
